Jim Harbaugh's return to the NFL launched an exodus from Ann Arbor, Michigan, with his defensive coordinator heading to Seattle, and a handful of Harbaugh's Wolverines lieutenants following him to Los Angeles. With their move comes an intentional change in culture within the Chargers. It starts with an element they lacked in recent years: toughness.

Today's Letterboxd newsletter reasserts the issue of digital preservation in the modern "ownershipless" economy (text in alt). It works with movies disappearing left and right as we speak, as with everything else.
As usual, digital content preservation is on the shoulders of a couple of guys hosting their index on some obscure BitTorrent magnet link or on people getting obliterated by lawsuits. It should not be like this.

I wish I knew why backup connectivity that Just Worked for months broke only one client host following an OS update and concomitant reboots on the evil backup server from hell. Also, why did it ever work, i.e. why was my ugly hack that makes it work NOW not needed 2 weeks ago?
There are a mess of vlans and netmasks involved. Many physical interfaces. And I will probably find the answer somewhere in the update notes for
